Sheffield

The notes to many of the issuers of tokens in this town are taken from an interesting pamphlet on the "Traders' Tokens of Sheffield," by the late Llewellynn Jewitt, Esq., F.S.A., etc.

The Rev. C. Bury, Vicar of Tickhill, in reply to my queries, says the only information he has been able to gather from the parish register is:

"William, the sone of Thomas Turnell, born ye 27th of 8ber, and baptized ye 6th of 9ber, Annus 1662, privately."
