S3950 Currency Farthing (Copper): (1838-1849)
O  Head of Victoria left, truncated below the neck. Hair is bound with a double fillet and gathered up behind in a knot with a loose curl below and another wisp of hair descending below that. Date below. Initials W.W. (William Wyon) appear raised on the neck truncation. More distance between portrait and legend, especially noticeable comparing the hair-knot at GR. Toothed border and narrow raised rim.
VICTORIA DEI GRATIA date
R  Britannia seated to right on rock wearing long, flowing robes and scale armor across her breast. She wears a Corinthian helmet with the plume reaching nearly to her shoulder. Her right leg is forward and her left is pulled back. Her right hand rests on an oval shield at her side bearing the combined crosses of St George and St Andrew (the Union Flag). The line running down the arms of the saltire is raised. Her left hand is extended and raised, clasping a trident ornamented with a balls on short stems on either side of the shaft below the prongs. Below, in the exergue, is a rose with three leaves, to the right a thistle with two leaves, to the left a shamrock, their stems crossing below the rose. The legend is broken by the helmet and trident. Toothed border and narrow raised rim.

S3950__0 Farthing, Currency Farthing in Copper of Victoria
S3958 Currency Farthing (Bronze): (1860-1895)
O  Mantled bust of Victoria left wearing bodice, on her head a wreath of leaves and berries, tied behind the neck with a riband with two loose ends. The hair is parted and carried over the ear to be formed into a plaited bun behind. The mantle is embroidered with a rose, thistle, and shamrock, and sometimes has a circular brooch in front. On the edge of the shoulder the word HONI SO or S, with part of the Star of the Garter. Legend around, broken by the head between G and BRITT. All within a thin, raised linear circle, a beaded or toothed circle, and a narrow, outer raised rim.

R  Britannia seated on a rock to right, wearing long, flowing robes over a breastplate of scaled armor. Her hair extends down her neck to her shoulder, and on her head is a Corinthian helmet with a plume which breaks the legend between R and T. Her left hand is outstretched and raised, grasping a trident below the head, the staff of the trident disappears behind her left leg. The head of the trident extends between the H and I. Her right hand rests on the edge of a circular shield at her right side, on it are the combined crosses forming the Union Flag. To the left of the shield stands a lighthouse on rocks with the sea around. To the right of her legs a ship with large pennant sails away. Date in exergue and a beaded or toothed border.

S3959 Currency Farthing (Bronze): (1874-1882 H)
O  Older mantled bust of Victoria left, with thicker neck, wearing bodice, on her head a wreath of leaves and berries, tied behind the neck with a crimped riband with two ends. The hair is parted and carried over the ear to be formed into a plaited bun behind. The mantle is embroidered with part of a rose, thistle, and shamrock. Drapery lower on bust so brooch on previous types is missing. On the edge of the shoulder the word HONI SO or S, with part of the Star of the Garter. Legend around, broken by the head between G and BRITT. All within a thin, raised linear circle, a toothed circle, and a narrow, outer raised rim.

S3963 Currency Farthing (Bronze): (1895-1897)
O  Bust of Victoria draped left, wearing a diadem partly covered by a veil which falls down onto her shoulder. The emblem of the Order of the Garter on her left above the truncation, partly covered by the veil. A pearl or beaded necklace about her neck with a pendant and a single-drop earrings hangs from her visible ear. Below the shoulder truncation are the initials T.B. (Thomas Brock). Bright finish. Tooded border with a narrow, raised rim.
